Petrovietnam President and CEO Le Manh Hung visits assembly site of Equinor’s Hywind Tampen floating offshore wind power project in Gulen, Norway

In order to implement Petrovietnam’s energy transition strategy, especially to take important steps for the formation and development of the offshore renewable energy industry, from 14th September 2022, Petrovietnam delegation led by President and CEO Le Manh Hung visited and worked with Equinor in Norway. VPI applied machine learning model and artificial intelligence to predict fractures in the basement rock

The Vietnam Petroleum Institute (VPI) said that it has applied artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) algorithms to readily identify the presence of fractures in basement rock with an accuracy of more than 80%, saving drilling time and cost.

ASCOPE successfully organizes 6th Mid-year Meeting of Sub-Committees

From 2nd to 5th August 2022, the 6th Mid-year Meeting of the ASEAN Council on Petroleum (ASCOPE) Sub-Committees chaired by ASCOPE Secretary General Tran Hong Nam was successfully held in Bangkok, Thailand. Attending the meeting were more than 70 members from the Southeast Asian member countries.
